The picture above shows what should be the Shanghai skyline in the year
2005. To be more precize, it's an image of the future 350 km2 Pudong area
that is situated east of the Huangpu river. Pudong can at this very moment
be seen as the largest construction site in the world, and it is rapidly
changing in what could become the most powerful urban commercial
district in Asia and perhaps the world.
The tallest building in the picture is the 460 m (1509 ft.) Shanghai
World Financial Center, now under construction, and when completed
the tallest building in the world.
